0 Toll Roads in Arkansas
The house transportation committee voted in a favor a bill that could open the door for toll roads in Arkansas. The bill sponsored by Rep. Robbie Wills would allow for the development of regional mobility authorities. The authority would consist of county judges and city mayors. Wills says the authority could then study the feasibility of a toll road. If it decides one is needed for the area, the issue would be brought before voters. Wills says tolls will not be placed on existing highways. Tyson Foods and Wal-Mart support the bill. The Arkansas Trucking industry remains neutral on the bill.
