:) Back in 2010/2011, I framed the basement, did all the electrical, insulation, plumbing. We had a contractor put up the sheetrock because I'm ultra slow at drywall taping. In 2012, we remodeled the upstairs and for years, I was told this room had to wait. It's been more or less a storeroom since then...always messy too.
In August, I bought some basic, cheap oak cabinets at Lowes, stained them with Minwax Ebony and finished the top with a polycrylic. Ordered the maple counter tops from a company in Michigan, one went back from shipping damage -- then a friend helped me get them in place because they weigh a ton.
I went way over budget, especially with the electronics in the desk area.
This is Crescent, one of our cats. He's probably the most social and loves to be right in your face. He's the only cat I've known who greets strangers at the door and jumps in their laps. Just has to be in the middle of everything.
My office build is coming along nicely. After nearly five years of waiting... Cabinets and countertops are in. This is my desk area. On it are two Dell 30" 2K monitors which are hooked to a Mac Mini. On either side are two Adam Audio A7X studio monitors (below the desk is an Adam Audio Sub 10 Mk2). The rack houses various audio equipment, a mixer, meters, computer, audio interface and a UPS.
On the other side of the room, electronics repair.
RC planes get built in this area (or whatever needs building).
This is where the 3D printer now resides (yes, that is my old Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 100 computer in the corner).
